This one doesn't get a title

Temperatures above 100 degrees put in a bad mood. I hardly left the house this entire long weekend. Just sat around the house and melted.

I can't blame my hermitness completely on the weather though. News that The Ex got engaged this week rocked me quite a bit. I found out early Thursday morning, zombied through work and then went home to cry. I hate post breakup events. I mean, really, can't ex boyfriends just move away to Alaska and leave me to get over them in peace?

I made cupcakes at midnight just so I could have something sugary and indulgent to eat.

What makes this situation even harder to stomach is KJ  isn't around. She cut out of my life a few months ago without any explanation and all attempts to talk to her have been blocked. I guess 2 years of close friendship are trumped by those with cooler and more overbearing personalities. Damn it, I'm finished off those cupcakes.

Mister Postman, look and see

I've been doing a lot on online shopping lately and finally have some fun things to show for it. I'm still waiting on a few more packages (all fun things for my Halloween costume) But more on that when they get here.

This is an absolute score for me- good condition to boot.

Commissioned this on etsy- I always liked those little corny samplers and thought the Joanna Newsom lyrics were perfect for this one.

So many lovely socks!

Now that fall seems to be making it's arrival, these will come in handy.

Is this the right place?

Jeez, its been so long since I've had a chance to post-
family in town means completely filled up free time. But I love having them visit partly because it's the only time I get to play euchre. Unfortunately, my camera didn't come out to play too much over the last week and a half. Until last night that is-

While I'm a bit more psychotic prom queen

Wore my vintage prom dress to the bar last night- which was slightly ironic as we ran into The Former Fancy there. Hmmm. Well, nothing counteracts uncomfortable situations like champagne.

Glitzy Glitzy!

I had yesterday off since it was Labor Day (a holiday that I'm not all that certain I know why it's a holiday) and spent it with my Dear Mother. We went to the SD Museum of Natural History for an exhibit on gemstones and minerals. Really, how right up my alley?

Absolutely gorgeous pieces of antique jewelry from the 18th century, modern creations, uncut crystals, art deco pieces, Faberge, Cartier, Tiffany!

Enough talking, only photos will do- lots of photos

Well, we stopped by the cafe before we hit the museum.

Turn of the century amazingness

Your choice

After a double shift and the second week of the school starting again and general busyness, I have and had absolutely no energy or time to post. So, here's a bunch of old photos.
